Review | Giorgio Armani Sheer Blush #2 Pink

by Jess on Tuesday, April 19th, 2011 · 37 comments

Have I told you that blushes are my current addiction? It seems, I can not get enough of these colored powders that instantly infuse my face with life! Don’t you just feel naked and dull without coloring your cheeks? Don’t know about you, but I do!

As much as I love color on my cheeks, I prefer natural looking shades that give me a sheer flush. Therefore, I prefer blushes with a sheerer pigmentation, as I simply can not manage high-pigmented-blush-application without ending up with clown cheeks.

This leads to my latest blush acquisition, which I’m going to review today! It’s the Giorgio Armani Sheer Blush #2 Pink, which is my very first blush from Armani. Yay!

Product Information by Armani

Extremely soft and light, sheer blush enhances the complexion with a flush of natural color. Sculpts the face delicately and naturally. Cheeks are left with a warm, radiant glow. All skin types.

 • soft, lightweight texture
 • sheer, natural color
 • universal range of shades

Application techinques:
Use the blush brush to sweep over the cheekbones to add a natural flush, or to contour and sculpt cheekbones in a circular movement.

Giorgio Armani Sheer Blush #2 Pink

Giorgio Armani Sheer Blush #2 Pink on my cheeks!

Packaging
Armani’s Sheer Blush comes in a matte black plastic compact that feels very sturdy. The design is kept very clean and that’s what gives it a classic and chic look. It has a full compact mirror inside, which is great for touch-ups on the go. It does not provide a small brush though, but since I prefer my regular blush brushes anyways, I’m not particularly sad about that.

Shade
#2 Pink is a light neutral pink with a hint of peach to it. There is no visible shimmer to it, but if you look very close and swatch it on your skin, you will see a very fine translucent sheen.

At first sight, it reminded me of NARS Blush ~ Sex Appeal, but when I compared closer, I noticed a difference in color and especially in how they finish. This neutral pink works beautifully on fair to medium skintones for a super natural and cute flush.

Texture and Color Payoff
Extremely silky and smooth! It’s that silky and smooth that it almost doesn’t feel like powder! Although the powder is so fine and sheer, the color payoff is definitely there. The sheerness of the texture allows you to layer on without overdoing.

Finish
I’m especially in love with the finish, which is nearly too amazing to describe in words! Sheer Blush #2 Pink instantly gives my complexion a glowy and luminous sheen! I feel this powder just melts into my skin. Literally! Seriously, the luminous sheen is to die for!

Availability and Price
Giorgio Armani is available internationally at Armani counters and department stores. Retail price is 43,00 USD / 41,95 €.

Verdict
How come, a beauty addict like me, has not picked this blush up much earlier? It’s not that I have not noticed all the hype about it! I think, it’s because the Giorgio Armani Sheer Blushes look very boring in the pan! Do you agree? Yes, that was the reason for sure!

Giorgio Armani Sheer Blush is probably one of the most silky powder blushes with the most beautiful finish that I have ever experienced. If you have problems with pigmented blushes like me, and love to end up with a beautiful luminous sheen, you better pick it up soon!

A drop of bitterness would be the heavy price tag, but I guess that’s the price for a high quality product?

Packaging: 5/5
Shade: 5/5
Texture and Color Payoff: 5/5
Finish: 5/5

And that was another A-rated product review! Hope you enjoyed reading! If you would like me to compare this blush to NARS Blush ~ Sex Appeal or other similar ones that I have, do let me know in the comments!

I can imagine why you’re into a blush kick at the moment. It’s the most important ‘aspect’ of your face since that’s the first thing everyone notices! I love that this blush gives you such a beautiful sheen and glow from within! Thumbs up! (I have the same blush too but I’m going to dig it up and start using it again)

Jen April 20, 2011 at 07:29

I’ll def be back :D yay! I really missed your blog while you were transitioning to Wordpress! :p

Is it a good or bad thing? :p

Cynthia April 21, 2011 at 03:20

Love the packaging and the shade, but don’t like the tag of it though. Never knew Giorgio Armani had a makeup line. Thanks for sharing this Jess!

Tammy April 25, 2011 at 00:19

That looks beeyoootiful on you! I don’t think I’ve seen Armani on this side of the border yet but I hope to come across it soon. Do you think this is the best blush you’ve tried so far?

Hi Tammy! I think in terms of smoothness, silkiness, blend-ability and finish it is one of the best I have tried so far! ;)
You definitely gotta check out, once you have the chance!

Andreea October 20, 2011 at 22:40

Thank you so much for the swatches, may I send you the receipt? ;-)
Honestly it looks gorgeous on you especially!

I think I might give it a try, I wear 5 for usual which is matte and brown-pink. Due to my rather reddish complexion (scars) I have to be very careful with pink but I guess a combination of both might work very good.
2 can be used as a slight highlighter, or?
